Me, in front of a gold-encrusted narrative in San Marco’s Basilica. It’s been a pretty mellow week EXCEPT something really cool happened. There was a private tour of San Marco’s Basilica, and I got to go!! So cool. This was a huge thing. Everyday, there is an extremely long line outside of the basilica for people to get in. There are usually a minimum of a hundred people inside at any time. And this is a low-ball figure. So to have the entire place for the thirty of us was astounding. I felt so small inside. Everywhere I turned, there was something else to catch my eye. Awesome.
So today we went to Murano, which is another part of Venice. Ever heard of Murano glass? This is the place. We went to a glass blowing demonstration, which was brilliant. This “master” was so skillful and delicate and just so damn cool. I wanted to take a glass blowing class at MICA last summer, but my mom was like, “Why do you need to learn how to blow glass?” Because I could be a glass blowing master, that’s why! Anywho, it was wonderful. And then the “master” of glass blowing tried to pick me up. So all in all, a good day.
Okay. Time for my nap.
xo.
